Unlike other dry foods, Tea is an extremely delicate food product that is easily destroyed by exposure to moisture. Although most vendors make good faith efforts to prevent spoilage, many times the teas have passed so many hands that it is impossible to tell under what conditions the tea has travelled to their store. This is the main reason why teas some times taste stale, and nothing like when they are freshly produced on the estate. At Jaya Teas want to change that.
The way we do this is by
First, sealing the freshness right at the source, in India, as soon as the tea becomes available to us. Our teas are vaccum packaed in poly bags, sealing-in the freshness untill you decide to open it.
Second, we provide a heavy duty tin container with an air tight seal around the rim. This heavy duty re-usable container protects the tea inside it, while also providing great aesthetics. Once the tea is gone, you can continue to reuse the container for storing other food products such as spices, sugar, etc.
And the final layer of protection, is the silica gel satchet inside the lid that keeps the tea moisture free AFTER you have opened the vaccum sealed poly bag, and emptied the tea into the container. The presence of the silica gel satchet will keep your teas fresh as they came out of the production cycle.
